Melody/ink and color painting
I believe that a painting should be rich in rhythm. Whether the painted lines are heavy or light, or fast or slow, or whether the patches or layers of color coordinated, or even how the blank areas are arranged—I feel that these are all things that deserve serious attention when painting.
I believe that painting and music are basically interlinked. From my point of view, a painter who is unable to carry a tune is simply incredible. Aren’t the musical scales exactly like the color shades of painting? Isn’t the beat of music the same as the rhythmic patterns of painting? And aren’t the pauses of music like the areas left blank in painting? Every piece of music has a name, while every painting must have a title—aren’t these also the same?
I occasionally sing, and I like to listen to classical music. When I hear friends singing, I can immediately write down the notes; when I compare what I’ve written with the score they had purchased, there’s usually no difference—unless they sang it wrong.
In summary, I believe that there’s no difference between people’s musical sense and aesthetic sense—they are connected and one and the same. @
