STORY:
Dozens of children took part in a “holistic brain improvement” class at the Electrical Museum of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in Jakarta on Monday.
周一,十幾位小朋友在雅加達的塔曼迷你印尼英達電氣博物館,參加了「全腦開發」課程。

One of the activities was to allow the students to identify colors while blindfolded. A wooden drum plays in the background. Then the student is asked to guess the color of a ball.
其中一項課程活動,是讓學生矇住眼睛猜顏色。木鼓聲在背後播放著,然後學生被要求猜球的顏色。

Surprisingly, every student made the right guess.
令人驚訝的是,每位學生都猜對了。

“The brain works in waves or frequencies. It means the brain doesn’t need help from the eyes or others senses to discern situations. We use a wooden drum to improve the brain’s performance because the sound from the drum can improve the brain’s wave or frequency.”

This particular method was experimented on youth ages 5 to 15 years. It also allows children to do other activities with their eyes closed – even reading, drawing and bicycling.

Another activity demonstrated the ability of the brain to multi-task. The students were asked to remember dozens of words that were said to them, while they did another activity, such as drawing.
另一個活動展示了大腦一心多用的能力。學生被要求在從事其它活動(例如畫圖)的同時,記憶十幾個同時被告知的單字。

Without a doubt, the students could remember the words that were said to them.
無庸置疑地,學生們能夠記住那些單字。

A unique discovery from this method shows that the brain’s performance corresponds with one’s moral qualities. The higher one’s moral values are, the better the brain performs.
這個方法還有一個獨特的發現,顯示了大腦的效能和人的品德水準相輔相成。一個人的道德價值觀愈高,他大腦的運作就愈強。

It lets the children discern good from bad.
它讓孩子們辨別好與壞。

“They are able to describe what happens when they do one act. They are able to describe, so one person is able to predict what will happen if they do one act. So one can be more diligent and improve moral quality because one can discern right from wrong. If one does a good deed, one would expect a good outcome. It makes ones heart become more truthful. This is special.”

This “Holistic Brain Improvement” method can be used on children to help them do better in school and to help build moral character.
