【大澳门威尼斯人赌场官网2月12日讯】在一群台湾同乡将近半年的努力奔走下，终于2004年二月六日与在华府拥有十七间博物馆及国家动物园的 Smithsonian Institution 达成协议，与该机构合作成立“Smithsonian Taiwan 传统基金”。 本基金创设的目的如下:

1.To support acquisition, conservation/restoration,and exhibition of collections from Taiwan or relating to the cultural, historical, and ecological heritage of Taiwan.

2.To support research and publications on topics unique to Taiwan’s heritage, and other Taiwan-related cultural activities of the Smithsonian Institution.

3.To sponsor art and film exhibitions from or related to Taiwan.

4.To sponsor exhibitions of Taiwanese immigrant contributions to America.

5.To sponsor other cultural activities such as lectures, conferences, and concerts from or related
to Taiwan.

本基金成立,不但对台美人在美国推动台湾文化活动因能得到Smithsonian Institution的专业上协助，提供各项设备，及该机构在美国拥有的崇高地位，大大地提高效能。并为国内各有关机关如文建会、观光局、新闻局、原住民委员会、客委会、县市政府，博物馆及各大文化基金会等，欲在美国推展大型文化宣传活动、增加台湾在国际上的能见度，打开了方便之门。

本基金的共同创办人为：黄俊平夫妇、赖义雄夫妇、蔡武男夫妇、陈文彦夫妇、梁永三夫妇、董芳雄夫妇、萧宗阳夫妇、陈文源夫妇、陈和弘、Chao-Yu Chen、Benjamin Chen、Carl Chen、刘聪德夫妇、彭贤森夫妇、江应钟夫妇、Amy Y. Hwang、Shingmin Lai、庄秋雄夫妇、Yen-sen and Lanny T. Chen、Paul C. and Sharon S. Hsu、Yenching Ho、Long L.F. and Grace Y. Tseng、Shi-Kuei and Ching-Chen Wu、John and Whe Lan Wu Detrick等。

本基金共同创办人有六位是台美人第二代，将来各项计划之推动与执行，将大部分由第二代主催。

本基金之管理委员会由FAPA总会前会长陈文彦博士主持，黄宜敏任秘书，萧宗阳主管财务。
