On Tuesday, Chinese media reported that mainland Chinese parents will be fined if they try to have a second child in Hong Kong. Government officials also attempting to breach the law will be fired from their posts. That’s according to the director of the family planning department in neighboring Guangdong Province, Zhang Feng.

Zhang said several women had already been fined after returning home from Hong Kong. He did not say how much they had been fined, but the Guangdong website said fines could be as high as six times the per capita income of the violators’ hometowns.
张枫说,已有几名妇女从香港返家后被罚款了。他并没有说他们被罚多少,但是广东网站上写,罚金最高可达违法者家乡的人均收入六倍之多。
