English Version:
On March 10, calling Chinese to add voice for justice!
53 years ago the Tibetans in Lhasa rose to resist the brutal, military control of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This resistance caused even more brutal oppression from the CCP. The leader of Tibetans, the Dalai Lama, and tens of thousands of Tibetans, were forced to flee to India and begin a lifelong exile. March 10th marks the anniversary of Tibetan resistance, and the Tibetans in exile, from all over the world, will hold a variety of activities to commemorate it.
Given the increasingly grim Tibetan situation, we call on overseas Chinese to attention. We call to recognize the terrible human-rights conditions in Tibet and other Tibetans residingin China. We call to recognize the concern about Communist China’s escalating oppression and iron-fisted ruling over Tibetans. And especially, we call to recognize on the March-10, the anniversary of this uprising, to participate in the activities around the world, expressing your solidarity and support for Tibetans’ demand for freedom of speech and religion, and their efforts to maintain the right of living and the dignity of life.
Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) took power in 1949, it has launched tens of political persecution campaigns, killing tens of millions of Chinese citizens. In the fifties, we saw numerous “anti-counterrevolutionaries” and “anti-rightists” movements, ending with Great Leap Forward in 1958. In 1959, more than thirty million peoples tarred to death in the unprecedented Great Famine. The Great Cultural Revolution followed in the sixties.
A period of relative openness and reform during the eighties was soon followed by the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre in which a peaceful student movement demanding reforms and transparency was brutally suppressed by tanks. In the last two decades, China continued its large-scale violations of human rights, suppression of free speech, and continued persecution against human rights defenders, political dissidents, as well as religious and ethnic minorities.
In recent years, China’s economic growth hasn’t resulted in social fairness and justice. On the contrary, the CCP exploits people even more, especially economically. While ordinary Han-Chinese couldn’t even get away with the brutal ruling of CCP, whose core interest group is mainly made up of Han Chinese, Tibetans living in China could in no way be exceptions. On top of the suffering also endured by Han Chinese, Tibetans are also subjected to ethnic discrimination and oppression led by the Chinese Communist regime. Due to Communist China’s long-term blockade of information and propaganda brainwashing, many Han Chinese, thus far, do not understand the real history and current situation of Tibet. They are easily filled with indignation, and join forces with Chinese Communists, in accusing the Dalai Lama in having engaged in the independence of Tibet and separation from motherland.
The Dalai Lama has always advocated Middle-way policy, and Tibetan Central Government has also always insisted on the non-violent protest policy. A policy that insists on finding peaceful solutions for the Tibetan issue, under the One-China framework. We consider it just and sincere for our Tibetan compatriots to protect the freedom of religion for the Tibetan culture. With the Dalai Lama grew older, the time-window to peacefully solve Tibet issue are being lost.
From March 2009 till today, 26 Tibetans have committed self-immolation to protest the High-Pressure ruling by Chinese Communist in Tibetan areas. Facing the resistance and struggle of Tibetans, the Chinese Communists have never sought the real cause from their failed-policies. On the contrary, they choose to continue to ignore the life and intensify the suppression, to distort the facts, and cast the blame onto the Dalai Lama and overseas Tibetans. When the self-immolation protests of Tibetans shocked the world, this touched the souls of millions of people worldwide, many Han Chinese, immersed in the distorted propaganda of the Chinese Communist, lost their rational judgment and conscience. Expressing the so-called voice of justice, they chose to stand by side of the Chinese Communist misrule.
We truly understand the silence of the Chinese territory of Han Chinese under the political pressure, but we expect the more than 40 million Chinese living abroad to have a clear conscience: when we enjoy freedom, democracy, equality, dignity and prosperity in a democratic country. The Tibetans are suffering slavery and oppression by the tyranny within their own home. In this regard, we cannot be silent!
To this end, we call on the Chinese around the world to urge the Chinese Communist authorities: to respect basic human rights of Tibetans, to give up the current hard-line policy of the possession, to engage in a sincere dialogue with the Dalai Lama, to respect the idea of middle-road concept, to protect the Tibetan language, culture, religion and other economic rights, and to ultimately realize a genuine autonomy by Tibetans in Tibet.
We call on the Chinese around the world: to care about on the ecological environment in Tibet, to demand the China Communist authority to stop the over-exploitation in Tibet. Many rivers in Asia originate in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and therefore the environmental degradation in Tibet will cause direct damage to China and other Asian areas, or even cause global climate and ecological disasters which canbe completely avoided.
We call on the Chinese around the world: in the country you live, call upon the Government, the Parliament, the community, to concern yourselves with the situation and human rights disaster in Tibet, to urge them to pressure the Chinese Communist authorities, to voice out the universal just call of mankind!
