法輪大法沒在媒體上做宣傳，但通過人們口口相傳迅速傳遍中國大陸。

我所在的中山大學煉功點每隔一兩天就有新學員來學功。中大校園裡原來有四個煉功點，新學員的增多也使煉功點迅速增多。

每天清晨都可以看到很多人在河邊、湖邊、路邊、校園、體育中心……集體煉法輪功。

一九九八年，據國家體委的官方統計，當時全國有七千萬人修煉法輪大法，超過了共產黨黨員的人數。到一九九九年，中國大陸已有一億人學大法。

這使中共害怕。它開始採用一些不光明的手段。

一位中年女子來到我所在的煉功點，說她想學法輪功。輔導員察覺她有點不對勁，但仍然友善的教她。

我們煉功點上的所有大法弟子都善待她，就像我們善待任何人。

不久後她對輔導員說：「你知道我是誰嗎？我是被派來監視你們法輪功的。但是觀察了這麼久，我沒發現你們有什麼不好，反而覺的法輪功很好，你們很善良。我現在也決定煉法輪功了。」

這種「特務」變成大法修煉者的事例在全國很多大法煉功點都出現了。（待續）

Though Falun Dafa had never done promotion in media, it had been spreading rapidly throughout mainland China by word-of-mouth.

Every one or two days, there were new practitioners coming to my practice site to learn the exercises. Previously there were four practice sites on the campus of Zhongshan University; now the increase of new practitioners made the practice sites expand rapidly.

Every morning, numerous people could be seen practicing Falun Gong together in parks, sports centers, or on campuses, the banks of rivers and lakes…

According to the official statistics of the State Sports Committee in 1998, there were seventy million mainland Chinese practicing Falun Dafa at that time, which had exceeded the number of the CCP members. By 1999, there had already been a hundred million people practicing Falun Dafa in mainland China.

This frightened the CCP. It began resorting to some negative means.

A middle-aged woman came to my practice site and said that she wanted to learn Falun Gong. The assistant sensed something but still taught her kindly.

All of the Dafa practitioners in the practice site treated her kindheartedly, just as we treated anyone kindheartedly.

Not long later she said to the assistant, “Do you know who I am? I was sent to spy on you Falun Gong. But after observing you for such a long while, I haven’t found anything bad about you; rather, I found Falun Gong very good and Falun Gong practitioners very kindhearted. Now I have decided to practice Falun Gong too.”

This kind of infiltrator-becoming-practitioner story took place in numerous Dafa practice sites in mainland China.
