臨淵臨淵(彩墨)
五代‧荊浩嘗語人曰:「吳道子畫山水,有筆無墨,項容有墨無筆,吾當采二子之所長,成一家之體。」
依我之淺見,荊浩說吳道子「有筆無墨」,似乎是指吳道子專在人物線描上做功夫,有所謂「吳帶當風」的線條美,但欠缺墨色墨趣的韻緻。至於說項容「有墨無筆」卻又只見墨色之潑灑,淋漓滿紙,但沒什麼筆趣。依荊浩之意,兩者得兼最好。
應該是這樣來看待。
Approaching pond/ink and color painting
Jing Hao tong of the Five Dynasties talked to someone: “Wu Dao zi drew landscapes painting with pen without ink, Shang Lon, who has ink but no pen, I should take both their merits and make my own style”.
From my humble point of view, Jing Hao pointed out Wu Dao zi “pen without ink” and it seemed to mean Wu Dao-zi is specialized in drawing characters’ line and has earned the beauty of the so-called “Wu’s cloth band as the wind” but lack of the charm of using ink. As for saying Shang Lon “ink without pen”, we can only see his feature of splash ink spreading whole paper but lack of the interest of using pen. According to the Jing Hao’s intention that it is better to get them both.
Which I believe it is the best way to be considered.@
